Summer 2026

The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) Summer Exhibition

‘What we see before us’  Single-channel digital video, 1 minute 50 seconds. (Catalogue No. 943)

Exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition 2026

Filmed on location in Manchester, this work responds directly to the 2026 Royal Academy Summer Exhibition theme of ‘Interconnectedness’, curated by Ryan Gander.

The film serves as a cinematic observation of urban synchronicity, exploring the invisible spatial and social threads that bind city dwellers.

Through a continuously moving camera, variable slow-motion, and reverse-temporal sequences, the piece disrupts ordinary urban velocity. By slowing the city’s tempo down, the work peels back the “skin” of daily routine to make visible the hidden, shared rhythms of collective human life.

The work is on display at the RA until the 23rd of August, 2026.
